CLASSES
Creative Movement
Ages 2-3, 30 minutes per week
Dancers will learn basic steps in ballet and tap. Children are introduced to the basic concepts of rhythm and movement using creative games that expand their individual creativity.
Pre-Ballet and Pre-Tap
Ages 3-5, 30 minutes per week for each style
Dancers will learn rhythmic steps and beginner terminology for pre-tap. Basic ballet positions of the arms and feet and the introduction of terminology for pre-ballet. These classes will focus on developing strength, rhythm, balance, and coordination.
Beginning Ballet and Beginning Tap
Ages 5-7, 30 minutes per week for each style
Beginning ballet is a basic class that introduces the students to the elementary positions of ballet, practiced at the barre and center. Beginning tap introduces basic rhythmic tap skills, and terminology. Center and traveling steps are introduced.
Intermediate Ballet, Intermediate Jazz/Hip Hop, and Intermediate Tap
Ages 7-10, 45 minutes per week for each style
More emphasis is placed on correct body placement and ballet terminology in intermediate ballet while continuing work at the barre, center and traveling. Intermediate jazz focusing on strengthening, balance, extensions, and musicality working through combinations and traveling. Students learn more tap rhythms, sounds, and combinations in intermediate tap. Also learning to increase speed while keeping taps clean.
Advanced Ballet, Advanced Jazz, Advanced Tap and Advanced Technique
Ages 10+, 45 minutes per week, Tap and Technique. 1 hour for Ballet and Jazz.
Advanced ballet focuses on artistic movement, musical interpretation, strength, coordination, and precision in movement. Advanced jazz will give students an opportunity to push themselves technically while further developing their performative range and artistic voice. Advanced tap goes deeper into the details of foot work and rhythm combinations along with still focusing on the technique behind the work. Advanced technique class focuses on stretching, turns, leaps, and contemporary technique.
Tumbling
Intermediate Tumble
Ages 7+, 1 ½ hours per week
Focus on strength, flexibility, tumbling skills- perfecting basic and mastering more advanced skills
Company-Premier, Elite, Junior, Petite and Mini
Competition Team, by audition only
Auditions for the next season typically precede the annual spring recital
Must be in at least one group dance to have a solo, duet, or trio
